About
Us - German Shepherd Rescue Las Vegas, Inc.
501(c)3 non-profit status pending
We are a small
group of GSD enthusiasts that have, since our inception in
2003, helped save
nearly 1200 German Shepherd Dogs in the Las Vegas Valley.
-
Typically we
evaluate GSDs at the local shelters and are called upon to save them on
their last day.
-
We also help
re-home dogs whose families find themselves in a situation where they
must give up their dog. With the current foreclosure crisis, this
problem is becoming critical! Our intake has doubled since the
beginning of the year because people are losing their homes. If
this is you, please read our Owner Surrender
Policy. If you have EVER considered helping to rescue by
fostering a dog, now is the time!
-
We
specialize in finding loving forever homes for these German Shepherd
Dogs. Most adoptions are local but we are open to long distance
adoptions, provided the adoptive family meets all other requirements,
including vet and personal references.
We are all
volunteers and each do what we can toward our rescue efforts. Some of
us provide temporary loving foster homes. Some evaluate so we can
match the right dog to the right adoptive family. Some of us use our
experience to help brush up doggie manners before adoption. Some help
by transporting dogs. And many of us do ALL those things.
Our
biggest challenge is funding. And of course, keeping up with the
constant influx of dogs. We need more foster homes and more financial
support. And we need the general public to do their part by being
responsible pet owners, spaying and neutering their pets, and by encouraging
others to do so. Talk to everyone you know about pet overpopulation
and encourage all to adopt a shelter dog to save a life.
We encourage you
to Please Join Our Efforts and look
forward to getting to know you.

Animal
Shelters in the Las Vegas Area are HIGH KILL shelters! Please Help
Us.
|
|
Since the Las Vegas
shelters are what is categorized as 'high kill', our purpose is to
give these animals the extra time needed to find that special
adoptive family who will appreciate the beauty, intelligence and
dignity that has consistently been a distinctive trait of this
breed.
If you are interested in
adopting from our organization please complete the Adoption
Application or call us at 775-910-1640. |
